World Cup Group H - Final round preview

Belgium have already qualified from group H as they have won both matches so far and they got 6 points. Algeria are the surprise of the group so far as they're in second place with 3 points, having won the match against South Korea, but they'll have to win at least a point against Russia to qualify. The Koreans are destined to finish rock bottom as it's difficult to believe they can do something against Belgium.

The Belgians have had problems in both matches so far. First they barely managed to overturn the score against Algeria after trailing 0-1 and then they won against Russia 1-0 with a late goal in a very even matches with few chances. Belgium have yet to shine in is tournament, the performances haven't been that good but they won both matches and therefore showed they've got character. Their game against South Korea is mesningless as the Belgians are preparing to meet Switzerland in the first knockout round, and we might see a rotated squad.

South Korea have failed to show anything in this tournament and they are not even remotely close to the quality of their famed 2002 generation. This team is having difficulties with scoring, despite scoring in both of their matches played so far. In any case, South Korea are the weakest team in this group.

Russia will qualify for the knockout stage if they beat Algeria, it's as simple as that. The Russians haven't performed well in the tounament so far, and both of their matches looked very difficult. Russia want to control the match and usually manage to do so, but their creativity in the final third is virtually non-existant and that's why they've scored only once so far. Fabio Capello and zis team have a good shot of making it to the knockout stage, but even against Algeria they will have a difficult time.

Algeria are one of the surprising performers of this World Cup. They almost pulled an upset against Russia and then dominated the much more open match against South Korea. Now they're in a position to qualify if they win a point, and we'll see whether coach Vahid Halilhodzic will opt for a degfensive approach that worked so well against Belgium, or the offensive approach that won him the game againdt South Korea.

Both matches are scheduled to start at 21.00 UK time.
