“Mr. Chelsea” John Terry inks 5 year deal with Chelsea
The rumors that were speculated about John Terry being sold to Man City are officially marked as false rumors. The Englishman, who has played over 275 games and has made 17 goals in his career for Chelsea is staying with the club.
The reported 5 year deal that Terry signed gives the center-back a weekly salary of £150,000 per week. Man City had offered Terry a weekly salary of £200,000 per week but failed to sign the center-back due to his commitment to Chelsea.
There was speculation that the veteran was heading to Man City for a reported £40m is now in the past, now it’s time for Terry to get back on the field with the club that he truly loves. Man City was looking to add the Englishman alongside players like newly signed Joleon Scott and Kolo Toure in an attempt to win a Premier League title.
Terry is one of the few players that have been with a football club since he was a teenager. He has many accomplishments under his belt with Chelsea, including two Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups and more in his 11-year career with Chelsea.
In his years with Chelsea he has started in 100% of the club’s games and is a valuable asset to the club. Chelsea was delighted on the decision that Terry made and many of Chelsea’s fans are looking forward to Terry’s next five years at Stamford Bridge.
