After having a losing season and being released by Juventus in May, Claudio Ranieri has found a new home in Roma. Ranieri is set to take over the Roma club after manager Luciano Spalletti resigned and Roma brought Ranieri to start a new system there to help bring an Italian Cup to the club.
Ranieri has many years of experience under his belt as a player and as manager. He has managed over ten football clubs and has taken many clubs to championships in his career. Although, he has been sacked by many clubs due to his lack of bringing forth a championship to the clubs he has coached. Ranieri has also been known to over rotate squads on the field. His career was most noted when he managed Chelsea from 2000 to 2004 and failed to bring a cup to the club, but managed to take the club to championship finals. His strategy of rotating players on the field was one strategy that was criticized by the British media giving him the name the Tinkerman. Although he brought the best players to the club he was still criticized on how he made substitutions throughout matches and the club’s failure to capture a major championship. He is now starting a new career at Juventus and is looking to finally capture a championship for the club and possibly stay longer than the two years he signed for. |
