French fans jeered their team after a lack-lustre 90 minutes in the Pro Letzigrund Stadium in Zurich last night after Romania held them to a 0-0 draw in the UEFA 2008 Group C match.
The French, one of the leading favourites in the Group C, “Group of Death” didn’t really pressurise the Romanians in any period of the match and they failed to grab the 2 expected points when the final whistle blew.
The Romanians wouldn’t let France to get into the game and their defensive unit was letting few chances through for the French football side. At the final whistle, the French supporters were clearly heard jeering their teams sluggish performance.
The other teams in Group C are the Netherlands and Italy and although the Italians also failed to score in their opening event, the French didn’t seem to gel as a team and if they continue to play with the same impetus, they’ll struggle to go any further in the competition. |
